Our group is a subcommittee of the Faculty Development Initiative, whose mission is to design and implement comprehensive professional development programs for faculty at all career stages, with special attention to those new to teaching.
As a subcommittee, we support this mission by providing faculty with opportunities and resources designed to develop knowledge and skills on assessing student learning.
Most recently, we developed a survey to distribute to our member institutions in order to better understand what types of student assessments are taking place within our institutions, what barriers we as educators are facing, and what we would like to learn more about. The subcommittee plans to use the results of the survey to better guide our efforts going forward.
